New York Licensed Substation Engineer

Job Summary

Providing senior technical leadership for electrical substation and transmission projects, the full-time remote Substation Owner's Engineer will independently manage complex engineering assignments, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance with industry standards while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex engineering assignments for substation and transmission projects
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure adherence to applicable design and safety codes
• Prepare technical reports, review engineering deliverables, and support procurement activities

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of substation engineering experience (345 kV and above)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Strong expertise in utility substation design and protection & control systems
• Experience managing projects from concept through construction and closeout
