New York Licensed Teacher of Visual Impairment

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students
• Adapt curriculum to meet the needs of students with visual impairments, including braille instruction
• Provide virtual instruction through synchronous and asynchronous learning platforms

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Special Education
• Active New York certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired
• Strong understanding of IEP development for visually impaired students
• Comfortable using technology for instruction and communication
