New York Licensed VP Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a VP, New York State Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting support and counsel related to real estate title insurance commitments and policies
• Analyze recorded documents to determine title conditions and insurability, and explain title issues to customers and managers
• Collaborate with title agents and escrow staff to ensure timely closings and assist with title commitment and policy questions

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) and licensed attorney in good standing with 5+ years of title underwriting or related real estate law experience preferred
• Familiarity with real estate law and understanding of title and settlement processes
• General knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to real estate title insurance
• Understanding of underwriting real estate transactions for title insurance policies
• Ability to collaborate effectively and act decisively in a team environment
