New York State Community Investment Director

Job Summary

To drive community development initiatives, the full-time salaried New York State Community Investment Director will manage lending and technical assistance efforts across New York City's five boroughs and throughout New York State, focusing on sourcing transactions and building relationships with developer partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Community Capital Investments team in structuring, negotiating, and originating affordable housing and economic development transactions
• Support senior leadership in identifying and pursuing strategic partnerships and funding opportunities for community investment efforts
• Underwrite transactions and present loan recommendations to LISC's credit committee, ensuring alignment with credit standards and risk management frameworks

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or relevant experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in lending, finance, community development, or a related field, with a focus on real estate development
• Familiarity with New York City and New York State markets and government financing programs
• Knowledge of financing products such as predevelopment, acquisition, and construction loans
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex transactions and coordinate with various stakeholders
