Job Summary

A company is looking for a Temporary Research Assistant to support an Indigenous mapping project focused on environmental water quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and extend GIS maps of Indigenous lands, activities, resources, and traditional knowledge
  • Add layers of water quality data in Lake Cayuga and design visualizations to support effective communication
  • Share mapping development progress with the Principal Investigator and project partners in regular meetings


Required Qualifications
  • Significant experience with GIS and digital mapping
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and understanding ethical principles related to sovereignty and data ownership
  • Ability to represent map content in Indigenous languages
  • Interest in water quality research
  • Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities
