Job Summary
A company is looking for a Temporary Research Assistant to support an Indigenous mapping project focused on environmental water quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and extend GIS maps of Indigenous lands, activities, resources, and traditional knowledge
- Add layers of water quality data in Lake Cayuga and design visualizations to support effective communication
- Share mapping development progress with the Principal Investigator and project partners in regular meetings
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience with GIS and digital mapping
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and understanding ethical principles related to sovereignty and data ownership
- Ability to represent map content in Indigenous languages
- Interest in water quality research
- Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities
