Newfoundland and Labrador Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary

To support a growing virtual urgent care service, the part-time to full-time Newfoundland and Labrador Nurse Practitioner will assess patients via telephone and video technology, diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, and coordinate treatment plans while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Assess client presentations and determine the urgency of care needed while facilitating referrals and follow-up
• Independently diagnose and prescribe in accordance with professional standards and clinical practice guidelines
• Communicate findings and treatment options to clients and collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed

Required qualifications:

• Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner program and an approved School of Nursing
• Current or willingness to obtain licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador
• Preferred 1 year of recent experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner, with clinical experience considered
• Family All Ages (FAA) certification is required
• Strong computer and technology skills to deliver virtual care effectively
