Newfoundland and Labrador Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary

To support a growing telehealth practice, the part-time to full-time Newfoundland and Labrador Nurse Practitioner will provide virtual assessments and care to patients, utilizing telephone and video technology while collaborating with healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Assess client presentations, determine urgency of care, and facilitate appropriate referrals and follow-up
• Independently diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, and coordinate treatment plans in accordance with clinical guidelines
• Communicate findings and treatment options to clients and inter-professional teams, documenting within the client's health record

Required qualifications

• Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner program and an approved School of Nursing
• Current or willingness to obtain licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador
• Preferred 1 year of recent experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner, with clinical experience considered
• Family All Ages (FAA) certification is required
• Strong computer and technology skills necessary for delivering virtual care
