Job Summary
To support a growing virtual care team, the part-time to full-time Nurse Practitioner will assess patients using telephone and video technology, diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, and provide follow-up care in a remote telehealth environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assess client presentations, evaluate urgency of care needed, and determine appropriate treatment plans and follow-up
- Independently diagnose and prescribe in accordance with professional standards and collaborate with healthcare professionals as necessary
- Communicate findings and treatment options to clients and document within their permanent health records
Required qualifications
- Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner program and an approved School of Nursing
- Current or willingness to obtain licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador
- Preferred 1 year of recent experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner, with clinical experience considered
- Family All Ages (FAA) certification is required
- Strong computer and technology skills for delivering virtual care, including a suitable computer system and internet connection
