Job Summary

Providing culturally competent and consumer-friendly services, the part-time hourly NJ Licensed Military Peer Support Specialist will engage with individuals through telephone, chat, and text requests, offering peer support and appropriate referrals while maintaining a peer-to-peer relationship to identify any emotional or behavioral changes.

Key responsibilities

• Engage individuals served in an empathic manner and respond promptly to service requests
• Develop and maintain peer relationships to identify emotional, psychiatric, or behavioral changes
• Respond professionally to referrals and inquiries from professionals and outside agencies

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• At least three years of active duty service or relevant military experience
• DD214 form or official document verifying military service
• Demonstrated ability to use a computer for recording services and basic office functions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
