NOC Analyst
Job Summary
Providing 24x7 monitoring support for a city-wide optical network environment, the full-time NOC Analyst will monitor network faults, create incident tickets, and notify customers and leadership while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively monitor core network systems and respond to network alarms using centralized management tools
- Create, update, and close tickets within ITSM platforms, executing triage procedures based on event severity
- Act as the primary source of information for outages/events, providing status updates to internal departments and customers
Required qualifications
- Hands-on knowledge of optical test equipment (OTDR, ONT, etc.)
- In-depth understanding of Layer 1/2/3 protocols including DWDM, Sonet/SDH, VLAN, and MPLS
- Experience with network monitoring systems and ticketing/ITSM platforms
- Able to read and understand GIS Maps, engineering drawings, and route schematics
- Prior experience in a 24x7 operations/engineering environment
