Non-Delegated Mortgage Underwriter

Job Summary

Managing a pipeline of conventional loans, the full-time Non-Delegated Mortgage Underwriter III will review credit, capacity, and collateral characteristics to ensure compliance with company and investor standards while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite conventional and non-agency loans, completing reviews and conditions within established turn times
• Identify document deficiencies and request additional information from clients as needed
• Assist colleagues in interpreting underwriting guidelines and provide updates on loan statuses

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting or a related field
• High school diploma required; advanced knowledge of residential mortgage industry practices
• Familiarity with FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products and Encompass
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
