Job Summary

Seeking a strategic Nonprofit Controller to work fully remote, this role will manage a portfolio of complex nonprofit accounts, oversee financial statement preparation, lead month-end closing meetings, and mentor Accountants while ensuring compliance and quality client service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month-end closing meetings and financial reviews with nonprofit clients and internal teams
• Oversee preparation and review of monthly financial statements and manage audit preparation processes
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls across client accounts while mentoring Accountants on the delivery team

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
• 7+ years of progressive nonprofit accounting experience, including team leadership
• Deep expertise in nonprofit fund accounting, grant management, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting
• Proven success in client-facing advisory roles in a multi-client environment
• Advanced technical skills across multiple accounting platforms
