Nonprofit Finance Director

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced finance leader, the interim Contract Director of Finance will manage daily financial operations, enhance budgeting and reporting processes, and ensure the nonprofit organization is effectively positioned during a transitional period, all while working remotely for at least two months.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead daily finance activities and support audit follow-up while maintaining stable accounting operations
• Direct the budgeting cycle and provide financial planning insights for organizational decision-making
• Produce accurate financial packages for board review and oversee banking activities as the primary liaison with financial institutions

Required qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience leading finance functions within a nonprofit organization at the director level or above
• Proven background in managing budgeting, month-end activities, and financial reporting in a complex funding environment
• Strong knowledge of grant accounting and reporting, with the ability to manage multiple funding sources accurately
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and practical reporting tool development
• Prior experience supervising staff and fostering a supportive, team-oriented work environment
