Job Summary
To support a high-volume patient-focused call center, the part-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will collect medical histories, monitor vital signs, assist with patient care, and manage administrative tasks, ensuring compassionate communication with patients while working onsite in Durham, NC, with potential for remote work after a probationary period.
Key responsibilities
- Collect medical histories, monitor vital signs, and prepare patients for exams and procedures
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and processing billing
- Provide telephonic assistance for a range of patient needs, including prescription refills and specialty referrals
Required qualifications
- North Carolina Certified Medical Assistant certification required prior to starting the position
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred; high school or GED required
- Experience as a Medical Assistant: Level II requires 1 year; Level III requires 3 years in a clinical setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to perform clinical tasks as assigned
