Job Summary

Working remotely as a full-time North Carolina Child Welfare Specialist, the successful candidate will engage with county Department of Social Services to implement a comprehensive prevention system aligned with the Family First Prevention Services Act, ensuring stakeholder involvement and providing technical assistance for program improvement.

Key responsibilities:
  • Engage county DSS offices, courts, and private agencies in the design and implementation of prevention systems
  • Monitor and provide technical assistance to county child welfare programs for sustainability and quality improvement
  • Develop county-specific referral processes to connect families with community agencies offering essential services
Required qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline and four years of related experience, including two years in a supervisory or consultative role, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of North Carolina child welfare program statutes, rules, and best practices
  • Experience in developing and implementing human service programs
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills
  • Experience in building partnerships with stakeholders to improve the child welfare system
