Job Summary
To ensure compliance with regulatory standards, the full-time North Carolina Credentialing Specialist will manage the credentialing process for medical providers at Duke University Health System, maintaining accurate databases and documentation while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Processes initial applications and verifies compliance with regulatory requirements for credentialing
- Maintains and updates a complex credentialing database with accurate provider information and ensures timely renewals
- Acts as a subject matter expert on credentialing policies and procedures, providing support to internal and external contacts
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or four years of relevant experience in Medical Staff Credentialing/Privileging
- One year of experience in a Medical Staff credentialing office
- Preferred certification by NAMSS (CPCS and/or CPMSM)
- Knowledge of state/federal laws and regulatory standards for accreditation
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
