Job Summary
Facilitating the admissions process for patients, the full-time Surgery Admissions Officer will manage the admissions list, coordinate discharges, and serve as the primary contact for providers, all while working remotely to enhance patient experience and reduce wait times.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the admissions list, including prioritization and assignment of services and nursing units, while documenting admission reasons and treatment plans
- Coordinate timely discharges and communicate admissions to accepting teams and Bed Assignment, troubleshooting any conflicts that arise
- Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient flow and satisfaction
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from a state-accredited school of professional nursing
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
- Three years of professional nursing experience in a tertiary care setting
- One year of experience managing patient flow
- Familiarity with hospital flow and collaboration with medical personnel
