Job Summary

To support compliance initiatives within the Patient Revenue Management Organization, the full-time North Carolina Licensed Coding Specialist will implement compliance programs, educate providers on regulations, and conduct internal audits while working remotely.

Key responsibilities
  • Educate providers on compliance with government regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines
  • Conduct routine internal audits of provider documentation and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Collaborate with clinical faculty and administration to promote compliance initiatives and improve documentation and coding practices
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Four years of administrative experience in compliance, coding, and auditing related to insurance billing and revenue cycle functions
  • Two years of experience with DRGs and APR-DRGs required for technical coding
  • RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification required; CPC or CPMA preferred
  • Experience in formal teaching of coding is preferred
