Job Summary
To support compliance initiatives within the Patient Revenue Management Organization, the full-time North Carolina Licensed Coding Specialist will implement compliance programs, educate providers on regulations, and conduct internal audits while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Educate providers on compliance with government regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines
- Conduct routine internal audits of provider documentation and implement corrective actions as needed
- Collaborate with clinical faculty and administration to promote compliance initiatives and improve documentation and coding practices
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Four years of administrative experience in compliance, coding, and auditing related to insurance billing and revenue cycle functions
- Two years of experience with DRGs and APR-DRGs required for technical coding
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification required; CPC or CPMA preferred
- Experience in formal teaching of coding is preferred
