Job Summary

North Carolina Licensed Compliance Specialist, a full-time remote position, is responsible for implementing and maintaining compliance programs to reduce legal and financial risks through education and internal audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Educate providers on compliance with government regulations, focusing on Medicare and Medicaid guidelines
  • Conduct routine internal audits and identify coding and billing risk areas, implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to enhance documentation, coding, and compliance capabilities
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Four years of administrative experience in compliance, coding, and auditing related to revenue cycle functions
  • Two years of experience with DRGs and APR-DRGs required for technical coding
  • Relevant certifications such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CPMA required
  • Preferred experience in formal teaching of coding and specialty coding in surgical or E/M coding
