North Carolina Licensed Head of Tax

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Head of Tax responsible for ensuring compliance with tax laws and developing tax strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement tax strategies in collaboration with business stakeholders
• Oversee tax audits, controversies, and the preparation of federal and state tax returns
• Provide leadership for tax provision processes and manage a team of tax professionals

Required Qualifications

• 12 - 15 years of tax reporting and compliance experience, preferably in the life insurance industry
• CPA certification is required
• Technical expertise in life insurance tax and tax accounting (ASC 740, SSAP 101)
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required; a Master's in Tax/Accounting is highly desirable
• Experience dealing with federal, state, and local tax regulators
