Key Responsibilities

• Accurately assigns ICD-10 and CPT codes, ensuring compliance with coding regulations
• Provides coding information to healthcare staff regarding regulations and practices
• Reviews and abstracts provider documentation to ensure accurate coding and reimbursement

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High School diploma or GED
• Successful completion of the UNC HCS SS Rev Cycle Physician Coder Proficiency Test
• Must possess AAPC or AHIMA certification
• 2 years of physician medical coding experience
• Maintains required professional certification
