Job Summary

To support the Transplant Services team, the part-time North Carolina Licensed Patient Financial Coordinator will manage financial clearance for patients, verify insurance benefits, and coordinate with clinical teams while working a hybrid schedule Monday through Friday and being part of the on-call team after hours.

Key responsibilities
  • Verify and interpret insurance benefits, providing financial counseling and establishing financial arrangements for transplant patients
  • Coordinate communication between patients, clinical teams, and insurance providers to ensure timely financial clearance and reimbursement
  • Maintain accurate patient data in the system and resolve billing issues related to transplant services
Required qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; advanced degree preferred
  • Three years of healthcare experience, including at least one year in insurance verification, authorization, or billing
  • Experience with transplant or chemotherapy programs preferred
  • Potential membership with the Transplant Financial Coordinators Association may be required
  • Certification with TFCA may be necessary
