North Carolina Licensed Roadway Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting the Transportation Practice in Charlotte, NC, or remotely within North Carolina, the full-time salaried Roadway Design Engineer will perform engineering design tasks for roadway projects, develop specifications and cost estimates, and mentor junior engineers in creating final design plans.

Key responsibilities

• Perform engineering design tasks for roadway projects from preliminary to final design
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages
• Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
• 4+ years of progressive engineering experience in transportation and roadway design
• Experience working with DOT design projects, with a preference for NCDOT or ODOT experience
• PE preferred or the ability to obtain PE within 1 year of hire
• Experience with Micro Station, Geopak, and OpenRoads Designer (ORD) is preferred
