North Carolina Licensed Safety Observer

Job Summary

To support patient safety, the part-time North Carolina Licensed Safety Observer will perform virtual monitoring of patients, communicate status changes to nursing teams, and document observations while working onsite in Durham, North Carolina.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain constant virtual observation of assigned patients using telehealth technology
• Communicate any changes in patients' physical, emotional, and mental conditions to the nursing team
• Document observations in the electronic health record and escalate any unsafe events as necessary

Required qualifications

• Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent
• In-patient hospital experience preferred; enrollment in nursing or medical programs strongly preferred
• Listing on the Nurse Aid Registry of North Carolina preferred
• BLS certification must be completed by the end of new hire orientation
• CPI certification strongly preferred
