Job Summary
To support patient safety in a remote capacity, the part-time North Carolina Licensed Safety Observer will monitor patients virtually, communicate their status to nursing teams, and document observations while working 3-12 hour shifts per week from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain constant virtual observation of assigned patients using telehealth technology
- Communicate any changes in patients' conditions to the bedside and virtual nursing teams
- Document observations in electronic health records and escalate unsafe events as necessary
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Preferred experience in an inpatient hospital setting or enrollment in nursing or medical programs
- Listing on the Nurse Aid Registry of North Carolina is preferred
- BLS certification must be completed by the end of new hire orientation
- CPI certification is strongly preferred
