Job Summary
To support patient intake processes, the full-time North Carolina Licensed Service Access Nurse will manage triage and admissions for non-critical transfer patients remotely, ensuring appropriate care levels and financial screening.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate patient care levels and determine severity of illness for admissions
- Coordinate with clinical staff to secure necessary authorizations and manage alternative care arrangements
- Analyze clinical and financial information for coding accuracy and initiate pre-admission authorizations
Required qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Three years of nursing experience
- Current North Carolina or compact state nursing license
- Expertise in medical terminology and clinical data interpretation
- Working knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding
