Job Summary
To support the Patient Revenue Management Organization, the full-time North Carolina Licensed Service Access Nurse will manage the patient intake process for non-critical transfer patients, ensuring appropriate care levels and financial screenings in a 100% remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate patient care levels and coordinate admissions, utilizing expert clinical decision-making
- Collect and verify patient insurance information while facilitating alternative care arrangements when necessary
- Initiate pre-admission authorizations and ensure compliance with scheduling criteria and billing systems
Required qualifications
- BSN required
- 3 years of nursing experience
- Current NC or compact state nursing license
- Expertise in medical terminology and clinical data interpretation
- Working knowledge of ICD-9/CPT-4 coding
