North Carolina Math Instructional Coach
Job Summary
To support the implementation of a new mathematics curriculum in ten low-performing schools, the full-time Math Instructional Coach will collaborate with school leaders and teachers, design professional development, and provide hands-on coaching to enhance math instruction and improve student outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of the Open Up Resources curriculum by collaborating with instructional staff and school leaders
- Design and facilitate tailored professional development sessions to meet the needs of low-performing schools
- Provide individualized coaching to teachers, observing lessons and offering constructive feedback to refine instructional methods
Required qualifications
- Master's degree in the education field from an accredited institution
- Three years of specifically related experience in public education
- Experience using or implementing the Open Up Resources (OUR) or Illustrative Math Curriculum
- Valid NC Driver's License
- Knowledge of school improvement models
