North Carolina Security Engineer

Job Summary

Designing and implementing core security controls, the full-time salaried North Carolina Security Engineer will manage security tooling and processes, collaborate with IT teams, and support IAM workflows in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls for networks, servers, endpoints, and cloud services
• Own the configuration, operation, and tuning of core security tools, including health checks and effectiveness reviews
• Investigate security incidents and coordinate remediation activities with infrastructure and IAM teams

Required qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, network engineering, or security operations
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft-centric environments, including Windows Server and Entra ID/Azure AD
• Practical experience administering security technologies such as firewalls, VPN, and endpoint protection
• Experience investigating and resolving security incidents involving endpoints and user accounts
• Ability to write and maintain basic scripts for automation of security and IAM-related tasks
