Job Summary
To ensure coding accuracy and compliance, the remote full-time North Carolina Surgical Coding Auditor will perform quality reviews of medical records, validate coding accuracy, and assist with authorization evaluations for procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct quality reviews of medical records to ensure accurate and compliant coding and billing
- Validate surgical/procedural coding accuracy, documentation support, and compliance with coding guidelines
- Assist in evaluating and ensuring proper authorization for procedures performed on the authorized date of service
Required qualifications
- RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC certification
- Five or more years of hospital coding and/or coding auditing experience in a healthcare entity
- Current knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Understanding of coding rules, guidelines, and regulatory updates
- Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service aligned with organizational standards
