North Dakota Licensed Application Developer

Job Summary

To enhance existing mainframe applications for the State of North Dakota, the remote contract Application Developer - Mainframe/ADABAS/DB2/Oracle will design, develop, test, and support enhancements while utilizing COBOL, Natural, and JCL, and collaborating within Agile teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test enhancements to mainframe applications used across state programs
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and produce clear documentation
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation and collaborate in Agile teams

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of recent mainframe development experience in enterprise settings
• In-depth experience with Natural programming within the last 4 years
• Experience with database management systems, including ADABAS, DB2, and Oracle
• Skilled in writing and maintaining JCL for batch processing and job automation
• Familiarity with tools such as QMF and Visio for data and design work
