North Dakota Licensed Principal Accounting Manager

Job Summary

Leading a team in managing a substantial budget, the full-time North Dakota Licensed Principal Accounting Manager will oversee daily accounting functions, develop budget guidelines, and monitor financial activities while working remotely with occasional in-person requirements during legislative sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor a budget exceeding $6 billion, focusing on a $500 million portfolio
• Develop budget guidelines and prepare appropriation requests for various funding sources
• Oversee daily accounting functions and provide coaching to finance staff

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or a closely related field
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in governmental accounting, budgeting, and financial management
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets involving multiple funding sources
• Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential and/or a master's degree in a related field is preferred
