Norwegian Technical Translator

Job Summary

Freelancing remotely, the Norwegian Technical Translator will manage the localization of IT content, including software user interfaces and technical documentation, while working flexibly based on project needs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform technical translations and linguistic reviews to ensure quality deliverables
• Manage terminology consistency through TMs, MTPE, glossaries, and style guides
• Coordinate project management tasks, including content scheduling and reporting

Required qualifications

• Native proficiency in Norwegian with a degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation, or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of experience in the localization industry, specifically for major IT accounts
• Proficiency in SDL Studio and CAT tools, with a working knowledge of XML or other markup languages
• Strong understanding of technical translation for IT content, including software UI and documentation
• Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and across different time zones, in a fast-paced environment
