Norwegian Technical Translator

Job Summary

Working remotely as a freelance Norwegian Technical Translator, the successful candidate will focus on creative linguistic adaptation and translation of virtual personal assistant dialogs from U.S. English to Norwegian, while manipulating code and collaborating with engineers and project managers.

Key responsibilities

• Translate and creatively adapt virtual personal assistant dialogs from U.S. English to Norwegian
• Ensure cultural relevance and creativity in personality-flavored dialogs at both linguistic and XML code levels
• Investigate and resolve linguistic bugs identified by the client's QA team, collaborating closely with engineers and project managers

Required qualifications

• Native speaker of Norwegian with proven experience in creative translation from English
• Working knowledge of XML or other markup languages
• Experience translating content with embedded variables in an XML environment
• Bachelor's degree in Translation, Audio-visual Translation, or relevant work experience
• Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to learn new technologies independently
