Job Summary
Providing critical support to individuals in crisis, the part-time NSAH Support Specialist will deliver trauma-informed assistance through the National Sexual Assault Hotline and partner hotlines, working remotely on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1:00 PM ET to 7:00 PM ET.
Key responsibilities
- Provide compassionate crisis intervention support via telephone and online chat, utilizing best practices in safety planning and active listening
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of client needs and assist with quality assurance efforts to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Facilitate online group chat sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for participants
Required qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in social services, customer service, or crisis intervention
- Proficiency in English, with the ability to pass a typing test of at least 35 WPM
- Comfort discussing issues surrounding sexual violence and using instant messaging platforms
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and manage time independently
- Willingness to complete comprehensive training and ongoing education as required
