Nuclear Design Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely on a contract basis, the Senior Fuel Handling System Design Engineer in Nuclear will design nuclear fuel handling systems, coordinate analyses, and provide technical direction while ensuring compliance with design codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design nuclear fuel handling systems and sub-systems from requirements through final design
• Coordinate the review of various analyses and integrate results into plant design delivery
• Provide technical direction and oversight for supplier projects and manage drawing packages

Required qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or related discipline from an accredited university
• 10+ years of direct experience with proven mechanical systems skills
• Experience in designing complex mechanical systems, particularly nuclear fuel handling systems
• Previous experience with nuclear reactors or similar high-performance system design
• Familiarity with ASME Section III and quality standards such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001
