Job Summary
Supporting the design and analysis of advanced nuclear fuel for water-cooled reactors, the remote Nuclear Design Engineer will perform neutronics modeling, develop technical documentation, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, with responsibilities scaling based on experience level.
Key responsibilities
- Perform neutronics and core design analyses for licensing qualification and commercialization of nuclear fuel
- Develop and maintain lattice physics and full core neutronics models using deterministic and Monte Carlo analysis tools
- Prepare technical calculations and documentation while collaborating with project teams to meet objectives
Required qualifications
- BS in Nuclear Engineering or a closely related field; MS or PhD preferred for senior level
- 2-3 years of relevant experience for junior role; 5+ years for senior role with proven leadership in neutronics analyses
- Familiarity with neutronics concepts and exposure to deterministic and/or Monte Carlo codes
- Introductory experience with Python programming for analysis or data processing
- Ability to access U.S. National Laboratories and pass required background checks and screenings
