Job Summary
Working remotely on a contract basis, the Senior Fuel Handling System Design Engineer, Nuclear will design nuclear fuel handling systems, coordinate analyses, and provide technical direction while ensuring adherence to design codes and standards.
Key responsibilities
- Design nuclear fuel handling systems and coordinate the review of various analyses such as thermal and structural
- Provide technical direction on design codes and ensure effective application in plant systems
- Develop and review technical design documents, including System Design Descriptions and Engineering Design Specifications
Required qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
- 10+ years of direct experience in designing complex mechanical systems, particularly nuclear fuel handling systems
- Experience with high-temperature and multi-discipline integration is highly desired
- Familiarity with ASME Section III and quality standards such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001
- Proven ability to manage projects with multiple objectives and lead a design team with minimal supervision
