Job Summary
Seeking a remote contract Fuel Handling Mechanical Design Engineer, this position will lead the design of nuclear fuel handling equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of nuclear fuel handling equipment from initial requirements to final design completion
- Provide engineering support for fuel handling systems, employing engineering principles to create effective solutions
- Generate and maintain critical design documentation, including Engineering Design Specifications and System Design Descriptions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution
- 5-15 years of direct experience in mechanical systems design, particularly in nuclear fuel handling environments
- Proficiency in ASME BPVC, Section III, Division 1 and/or Section VIII, and remote tooling design
- Exceptional technical writing and communication skills, with a focus on detail and technical excellence
- Proven ability to coordinate and lead design efforts with minimal direction
