Nuclear Methods Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Nuclear Methods Engineer to support nuclear analysis methods for the design and licensing of a demonstration MCFR reactor.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop neutronics methods for fast spectrum molten salt reactor analysis
• Implement nuclear analysis methodologies using Python software
• Conduct core design and analysis activities for advanced nuclear reactors, including optimization of fuel management strategies and validation of neutronics analysis

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering with 6-10 years of relevant experience
• Experience in nuclear design/analysis methodologies, particularly for fast-neutron reactors
• Proficiency in radiation transport software; experience with MCNP and OpenMC preferred
• Programming experience in any language, preferably in scientific computing, with Python skills being a bonus
• Familiarity with software development tools and experience in a NQA-1 compliant QA environment is preferred
