Nuclear Methods Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Nuclear Methods Engineer to support nuclear analysis methods for design and licensing of a demonstration MCFR reactor.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop neutronics methods for analysis of a fast spectrum molten salt reactor
• Implement nuclear analysis methodologies using Python software and perform core design activities
• Conduct validation of neutronics analysis through benchmark models and sensitivity studies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering with 6-10 years of relevant experience
• Experience in nuclear design/analysis methodologies, particularly for fast-neutron reactors
• Proficiency with radiation transport software; experience with MCNP or OpenMC is preferred
• Programming experience in any language, preferably in scientific computing, with Python skills as a bonus
• Familiarity with software development tools and experience in a NQA-1 compliant QA environment is preferred
