Job Summary

Supporting the development and implementation of a nuclear packaging and transportation program, the contract Nuclear Packaging and Transportation Engineer will collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards while facilitating the efficient shipping and transportation of nuclear materials in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Actively participate in the development of the nuclear packaging and transportation program to ensure readiness in compliance with schedule needs
  • Evaluate packaging needs and collaborate with design, testing, licensing, and fabrication teams for shipping containers
  • Support the development of logistics programs and serve as the point of contact for technical aspects regarding nuclear material packaging and transportation
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred; degrees in other disciplines will be considered
  • 2-10 years of engineering experience
  • Familiarity with nuclear industry terminology and experience with nuclear logistics providers or power stations
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations governing radioactive material shipments
  • Knowledge of nuclear fuel fabrication, shipping container design, and hazardous material transport, especially Class 7 materials (desirable)
