Job Summary
To support U.S. NRC licensing submittals, the contract Safety Analysis Engineer, Nuclear will perform deterministic safety analysis and transient modeling using RELAP5-3D, while collaborating with engineering teams and developing safety analysis reports in a remote capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Perform deterministic safety analysis and transient modeling for the Natrium sodium fast reactor
- Analyze design basis accidents and licensing basis events to support reactor licensing with the US NRC
- Develop and document safety analysis reports, including the Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR)
Required qualifications
- B.S. in nuclear engineering or relevant field with 10+ years of experience, or M.S./Ph.D. with 5-7+ years of experience
- Extensive experience in nuclear safety analysis and reactor system modeling
- Proficiency with safety analysis software such as RELAP5, TRACE, or similar
- Strong knowledge of nuclear systems thermal-hydraulics, reactor physics, and transient phenomena
- Experience in transient and accident analysis for NRC submittals
