Nuclear Safety Analysis Engineer

Job Summary

To support U.S. NRC licensing submittals, the contract Safety Analysis Engineer, Nuclear will perform deterministic nuclear safety analysis and transient modeling using RELAP5-3D, while working remotely for a duration of 12 months.

Key responsibilities

• Perform deterministic safety analysis and transient modeling for the Natrium sodium fast reactor
• Analyze design basis accidents and licensing basis events to support reactor licensing with the US NRC
• Develop safety analysis reports and collaborate with cross-functional teams on licensing documentation

Required qualifications

• B.S. in nuclear engineering or relevant field with 10+ years of experience, or M.S./Ph.D. with 5-7+ years of experience
• Extensive experience in nuclear safety analysis and reactor system modeling
• Proficiency with safety analysis software such as RELAP5, TRACE, or similar
• Strong knowledge of nuclear systems thermal-hydraulics and reactor physics
• Experience in transient and accident analysis for NRC submittals
