Job Summary
To support U.S. NRC licensing submittals, the contract Nuclear Safety Analysis Engineer will perform deterministic nuclear safety analysis and transient modeling using RELAP5-3D, while collaborating remotely with cross-functional teams over a 12-month period.
Key responsibilities
- Perform deterministic safety analysis and transient modeling for the Natrium sodium fast reactor
- Analyze design basis accidents and licensing basis events to support reactor licensing
- Develop safety analysis reports and collaborate on methods development and validation activities
Required qualifications
- B.S. with 10+ years or M.S./Ph.D. with 5-7+ years in nuclear engineering or a relevant field
- Extensive experience in nuclear safety analysis and reactor system modeling
- Proficiency with safety analysis software such as RELAP5, TRACE, or similar
- Strong knowledge of nuclear systems thermal-hydraulics and reactor physics
- Experience in transient and accident analysis for NRC submittals
