Nuclear System Design Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of advanced nuclear energy systems, the contract System Design Engineer will design and integrate complex process and plant systems from conceptual design through final implementation, working remotely for 40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Design nuclear and industrial process systems and subsystems from concept through final design
• Develop and maintain mass and energy balance models to support system performance and design analyses
• Integrate results from various analyses into overall system designs and develop engineering documentation

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• 10+ years of system design and engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid systems, heat transfer, and mechanical/process system design
• Experience developing and maintaining mass and energy balance models using Aspen HYSYS and/or Aspen Plus
• Demonstrated experience integrating complex engineering systems across multiple technical disciplines
