NVP of Agency Underwriting

Job Summary

NVP of Agency Underwriting is a full-time remote position responsible for managing escalations and supporting the Agency Underwriting Scenario Team while collaborating with various departments on underwriting projects and communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and complete escalations requiring Second Level Reviews and communicate decisions to the VP of underwriting
• Conduct daily team calls to discuss Second Level Review Escalations and perform weekly spot checks on escalation reviews
• Manage and grow the Agency Underwriting Scenario Team, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and providing necessary training and feedback

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance; advanced degree preferred
• 10+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting, including 2 years in a management role
• Extensive knowledge of risk evaluation and regulatory compliance
• Strong understanding of FHA, VA, and conventional loan programs
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback
