OASIS Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the OASIS Coding Specialist will perform 485 and OASIS reviews, assign ICD-10 codes, and ensure high service levels for clients while managing a productivity quota of completed reviews daily.

Key responsibilities

• Perform coding and reviews for OASIS and 485 documentation, meeting established productivity levels
• Extract clinical information from assessments and medical records, assigning appropriate ICD-10 codes
• Communicate effectively with agencies and conduct peer audits while providing excellent customer service

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of home health OASIS/485 review and coding experience
• Certification in home health coding (HCS-D or BCHH-C) and OASIS (COS-C or HCS-O)
• Thorough knowledge of EMR systems, coding regulations, and medical terminology
• Experience in quality assurance (QA) or case management is a plus
