Observability Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a skilled Observability Engineer with expertise in Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog, this full-time remote position will design and operate enterprise-grade observability platforms, focusing on metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting to enhance system confidence for engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and operate observability platforms covering metrics, logs, traces, and synthetic monitoring
• Architect deployments of Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog for high availability and scale
• Define and enforce SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets, building dashboards and alerts to operationalize them

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Five or more years of experience in SRE, platform engineering, or observability roles
• Deep hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and a commercial observability platform like Datadog
• Strong understanding of OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and structured logging
• Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language such as Go, Python, or Java
