Observability Systems Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance Marriott's observability platform, the full-time Observability Systems Engineer will define, implement, govern, and optimize solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support logging, monitoring, and automation for infrastructure and application services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance observability solutions for various data sources in a complex enterprise environment
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deploy logging and monitoring solutions that align with business needs
• Lead optimization efforts for the observability platform and explore alternative automation technologies

Required qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience/certification
• 7+ years of experience in information technology with hands-on technical roles
• 5+ years of experience developing applications in AWS and supporting Java applications
• 3+ years of administrative experience with observability tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk Cloud
• Strong scripting experience in at least one of the following: PowerShell or Python
